In the traditional year-end podcast with Major Nelson, Phil Spencer discussed the availability of Xbox Series X , a console that – like PC graphics cards and PS5 – is currently unavailable in circulation.
The Xbox boss explained that many people ask him why more are simply not assembled or why Microsoft did not start first with the production of the console, in anticipation of such a situation (then accentuated by the COVID emergency- 19).
“It’s really a matter of physics and engineering. We are not holding them back: we are building them as fast as we can. We have all the assembly lines up to speed . I was on the phone with Lisa Su from AMD last week and asked, “How do we get more?” . So that’s something we’re constantly working on, ” articulated Spencer.
«But it’s not just us: gaming really got its own in 2020. Of course, PlayStation 5 has very tight supplies. When you look at graphics cards from AMD and Nvidia… there is simply a lot of interest in gaming right now and console sales are just one sign of that, game sales are another sign as there are few units of the hardware. p>
But we are working as hard as we can. The teams are incredibly focused, and I appreciate the patience of the people as we work to achieve more. “
At present, PS5 is nowhere to be found exactly like Xbox Series X but Sony is ready to launch it in new markets this year.
The good news is that, according to a recent report, the Japanese company expects the console to be up to six times easier to find in 2021.
As for Xbox Series X, Microsoft expects supply difficulties to last until at least April, after which time the situation should be closer to normal.
If you want to take Xbox Series X home, keep an eye on the console page on Amazon.
