Even if we take it for granted by now, Steam is definitely the unbeatable platform for PC gaming and proves it by racking up new user records.
It is often also the best opportunity to recover the best video games that come out, unless you want to buy them through the usual Amazon.
In 2022, gamers used Steam with a certain vehemence, as demonstrated by the ranking of the most purchased and played video games last year.
A platform that continues to be central for many players, and which only in November 2022 had registered a huge record.
The over 31 million users registered on Steam at the same time already seemed like a lot, but that number was beaten recently (as reported by VG247).
New record recorded by SteamDB marks a peak of 33,078,963 connected players at the same time, during January 8th. And that’s not all, because in the new measurements there is a record within the records.
During the same period, in fact, the Valve platform also recorded 10,284,568 active users, or people who are actively playing something within the platform at the same time.
PC players have still given their loyalty to Valve’s service for another year, and beyond, despite the insides of the Epic Games Store and GOG for example.
Not that the appeal of Steam has ever really been in doubt, but it’s always remarkable to see these numbers with the general offer of use of video games that has increased exponentially.
So much so that, at the end of last year, perhaps the effect of this videogame bulimia occurred. A considerable drop in the sales of video games supported, however, by some important titles.
For more news from the world of Steam: the awards given by the digital store to all the best games of the year a few days ago ended and… there are some surprises; the popularity of the online store is also given by the gifts that are given every now and then to the players, and which have already started in 2023.
