Gran Turismo 7 is updated by exclusively introducing… an electric car!

While electric mobility tries to make its way (it is precisely the case to say so, ed.) on the market, as we tell you daily in the MotorLabs division of our sister site Tom’s Hardware, also Gran Turismo 7 has opened the doors to the world of so-called green cars. \r\nUpdate 1.46, available for a few hours, has in fact introduced three new cars — including an electric one created specifically for the game, as revealed by the PlayStation Blog.\r\nThe first is the ŠKODA Vision Gran Turismo, an electric all-wheel drive concept car designed by the prestigious Czech car manufacturer. This vehicle, designed exclusively for the Gran Turismo universe, marks ŠKODA’s first appearance in the series.\r\nIt is inspired by the legendary Škoda 1100 OHC Spyder from 1957, originally developed for the 24 Hours of Le Mans, and is described as not only a historical homage, but also an exploration of the possibilities of future automotive design, which also mixes here some looks that we usually see in formula E. \r\n\r\nEquipped with two twin electric motors of 200 kW each, one per axle, the ŠKODA Vision is capable of delivering a combined power of 800 kW, or 1,072 BHP. In short, it seems like it’s fun to drive it in Gran Turismo 7, because it doesn’t lack power.\r\nIn addition, the update also brings the AFEELA Prototype 2024 into the possibilities of your garage, born from the collaboration between Sony and Honda and presented at the beginning of CES 2024. The exterior design combines the traditional hatchback sedan shape with an aerodynamic silhouette, embellished with a myriad of sensors, including the LiDAR unit positioned on the front roof, which guarantee natural driving assistance and precise.\r\nThe other vehicle that arrives with the update is the Chevrolet Chevelle SS 454 Sport Coupe ’70, appreciated in the drag racing scene for its extraordinary power. 1970 saw this model become one of the most powerful intermediates on the market, thanks largely to versions of the 454 ci engine, with the LS6 option reaching 449.7 BHP, making it a true racing legend.\r\nVi we remind you that Gran Turismo 7 is available on PS5 and on PS4. If interested, you can buy it on Amazon, but the recommendation is always to take a look at our dedicated video review first.
