Continuity problems? Ask Quan Chi

Again Mortal Kombat X offers a story divided into chapters, with multiple playable characters and a large number of cut-scenes, without too many problems that undermines everything that came before. Never mind, though, given the quality of everything.
The plot is predictably freaked out and is directly linked to the last chapter, which had reset the continuity in many aspects. Yes, because to solve various problems of continuity in Netherealm have seen fit to exploit the qualities of necromantic Quan Chi, reviving much of the cast disappeared. It worked? Not really at all, and there are many items that we believe do not fit together very well … but if there’s a story for which it is advisable to turn off your brain and enjoy the journey is that of Mortal Kombat, so we crooked nose much.
In the long campaign they add many ways, but be careful, because there were some pretty heavy losses in this last chapter. AWOL as the tower of the challenges, which, with its missions of increasing difficulty offered a tantalizing way to enjoy the game alone. Here we have the classic towers, which offer an arcade mode, clashes with the modifiers, a survival mode, an endless series of battles, or tests of strength. The real big news is of course represented by the styles, a gimmick that completely changes the approach to the game. You can see immediately a roster clearly less nourished than usual in Mortal Kombat X, and the reason lies in the ability to select three different “types” for each warrior. Each style adds to the special and unique combo fighter, giving it more effective in certain situations and bringing the player to change significantly their plans during a battle.
The experiment, in our opinion, could the great and gives an impressive variety to the various protagonists of the series, changed as never before and are able to field all kinds of tricks. Clear, in terms of balancing the work is painstaking, and already certain specializations seem damn more effective than others, just as there are characters that become completely style style, while others have variations less dry. Yet it is hard not to get excited when you take advantage of the nails Erron Black corner to increase the pressure on the opponent, they simply place some brutal blows with the variant “owned” by Kenshi, or exploit the swords of Scorpion to start a combo in safety. Winning the war of factions, reset every week, offers various prizes (we have not been able to test), and membership in a team provides additional fatality. An interesting idea, that shows how Netherealm maybe this time they wanted to focus more on online and on the single player game. Further evidence is the Living Towers, variations in network of traditional towers with modifiers and clashes renewed constantly. We continue to prefer the Challenge Tower classic, but still a great resource.

But now is the case of slightly dampen the enthusiasm and speaking defect of the game, because there is no other outside cracks in the balance and lost mode. The Netcode primarily, improved since the massacre of the ninth chapter but still was’nt. The lag is a constant in many games if you do not have a connection of high quality and we happen to face some match completely unplayable even against other Europeans. Hard to say whether the situation will change in the future, but we are still far from the best netcode in circulation.
The other deficiency is linked to the roster. If the styles differ very different choices, it is also true that from Mortal Kombat X is the case expect an inordinate number of DLC. Seriously, aside from the already announced Kombat Pack and the annoying choice of Goro put in pre-order, in the countryside there are many models of fighters not playable that we expect to see added gradually. Better than a strategy based on reissues (Arc System and Capcom, we speak with you), but still annoying.
Nothing to criticize instead regarding the technical sector, really spectacular. As we have said, to see Mortal Kombat is more fast-paced, fast and strabilante, the gore is more realistic, the effects laudable, the fatality absurd, and the match between experienced players are lightening fast and damn exciting. By applause scenarios, but not many really wonderful, and animations, which, while maintaining a slight woodiness are much more fluid. This is a fighting game really nice, a ruby-red blood that deserves to be admired for a long time. Some scatterello countryside bother us, but it is limited to the conclusion of the first match of a new cutscene and it is certainly a worrying situation. Do not underestimate finally the sound, which has finally voiceovers in Italian decent, well away from the havoc of the last time.
