The public was eagerly awaiting the arrival of Borderlands 3 and seems to have just demonstrated it with numbers: we learn in fact that the most recent effort by Gearbox Software has managed to place 5 million of copies in its first 5 days on the market . This is more than twice what the previous Borderlands 2 did five days after its day-one.

So, having established itself as the most convincing retail game in the UK, the title takes another record home, proving to be the best launch ever for Gearbox Software, as well as the fastest 2K success ever. To this is added the fact that at the PC launch – with the discussed exclusivity on Epic Games Store – there was also a record of players active simultaneously and that 70% of these sales are digital .

Please note that Borderlands 3 is available on Windows, PS4 and Xbox One since last September 13th. Considering the numbers of his early days, we await to find out on which figures the most recent work of the Randy Pitchford team will settle.
