After being expected for 2022 and finally postponed, Redfall identified its definitive release date only a few days ago, when it was confirmed by  Microsoft and Bethesda that the next work by Arkane Austin will debut on May 2nd. The news is also accompanied by the publication of the game’s official FAQs, from which we learn, however, that you will need to have an internet connection that is always active, even if you decide to play alone.

To reiterate it is Bethesda who, answering frequently asked questions about the game, writes «playing Redfall will require an online connection for both single player and co-op?». Question to which the official site answers:

“A persistent online connection is required for single player and co-op.”

Immediately below, it is also specified that to play you will also need a Bethesda.net account, the company’s proprietary client – the same one already used, for example, for The Elder Scrolls Online or for Fallout 76.

On the other hand, Xbox Live Gold will not be required to play alone, but it will be if you want to play co-op. In summary, then:

• You will need a Bethesda.net account to play;
• You will need a active internet connection, even to play in single player;
• The Xbox Live Gold subscription will only be needed if you choose to play co-op, not if you play single-player.

In all of this, it is emphasized once again that Redfall will be available from day-one on Game Pass, so it will not be necessary to buy it individually – or, at least, not it will be necessary for subscribers to the service, whether they have it on Xbox Series X|S, or are PC users.

Redfall is a vampire-intensive shooter that marries the usual ingenious mechanics from Arkane: the development team is the same as the appreciated Prey, even if in this case it is led by Harvey Smith, who in the past was creative director of Dishonored 2 at the other division of the studio, that of Lyon (recently author of Deathloop, which you can find on Amazon).
