It’s been a while since we last heard any concrete news about Everwild, the project from Rare that was announced in 2019 and which has been quite desirable since then. Yet, apparently the game still exists. Or, at least, it still exists in the thoughts and Christmas greetings published by the company.\r\nAs you may remember, Everwild was presented for the first time in November 2019, after the success of Sea of Thieves. The announcement trailer showed off a colorful world populated by wild animals and magical elements, but didn’t reveal any concrete gameplay details or a release date. A second trailer in 2020 was equally cryptic but highly praised – not least because of Rare’s pedigree.\r\nSince then, however, the project has virtually disappeared from the radar. There was talk, in 2021, of an internal restart of work with a release target for 2024, but as you may have noticed, 2024 also passed without significant news. At least until today, considering that at least the Christmas greetings should reassure us that Everwild is still in the works and still exists.\r\nIn the post on Twitter, Rare jokingly defined the image as «a delicious png to enjoy» as a gift Christmas to the fans. He then concluded with «See you in 2025!», hinting at possible developments (finally) for next year.\r\nWe just have to keep our ears pricked towards Rare to find out when there will be further news, after these years of discretion and silence.
Yes, Everwild still exists (at least at Christmas)
