Bloober Team has officially announced that Cronos: The New Dawn, his new third -person survival horror, will receive a physical edition for PlayStation 5 thanks to the collaboration with Skybound Games.
The retail version will be distributed in the American market (which I imagine will also follow a European version) and represents an important step in the expansion strategy of the Polish team.
The CEO of Blober Team, Piotr Babieno, commented enthusiastically the partnership, underlining the experience of Skybound Games in global physical distribution:
«Skybound is a partner with exceptional skills in the field of global videogame distribution (among others, also of the physical release of The Callisto Protocol – which you find on Amazon, ed) has also dealt with the physical release.
We are happy to be able to develop this collaboration with Cronos: The New Dawn. It is our most ambitious original title, and we are sure that it will represent a new big step forward in the development of the Bloober Team Group. “
The physical edition is part of a wider marketing strategy that aims to give greater visibility to intellectual property, and confirms the intention of the study to invest in traditional format, despite the growing weight of digital distribution.
The announcement of Cronos’s physical edition: The New Dawn is a news that will surely please those who, like me, continue to appreciate the value of the physical format, not only as a collector’s object, but also as a symbol of belonging and videogame memory.
In a market that tends more and more towards digital, seeing a study like Blober Team Starting again on retail is an important, almost romantic signal. And if Cronos will really be the most ambitious project of the team (pending the silent hill 1 remake), then the whole possible showcase deserves – also on the shelves.
Cronos: The New Dawn is expected in any case for this autumn on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X | S and PC via Steam and Epic Games Store, and the game promises to offer moments of pure terror, apparently.
