The videogame world is in turmoil after Monolith Soft has shared an Xenoblade Chronicles 2 movie on x showing technical differences compared to the original version for Nintendo Switch.
The video, widespread as part of a work announcement, presents a scene with an apparently improved lighting system, fueling speculations on a possible update dedicated to Nintendo Switch 2. However, it is not clear whether it is material from a revisited version or simple changes created for promotional purposes.

Among all the chapters of the series, Xenoblade Chronicles 2 is probably the one that could benefit more than the enhanced hardware of the new console. Released in 2017, the title is still considered one of the most ambitious projects ever carried out on Switch, but had to live with evident compromises in terms of resolution and fluidity.
Elements such as the models of the high definition characters and the famous seas of volumetric clouds, albeit spectacular, have put a strain on the limits of the hybrid console.
The back -compatibility of Switch 2 already guarantees a more stable framerate both in dock and portable mode, offering a slightly improved experience even without dedicated patch. A possible update, therefore, would allow the game to fully express its technical and artistic potential.
However, it is possible that the movie does not indicate any concrete project, but it was used only to make the promotional material more captivating. The choice to show just Xenoblade Chronicles 2, however, does not seem completely random, given that it represents one of the most loved and recognizable titles in the Switch catalog.
Waiting for official confirmations by Nintendo or Monolith Soft, the second chapter of the saga remains an essential experience for every JRPG enthusiast. A work that, beyond the technical limits, has been able to stand out for the epic narration, the vast world to explore and the deep game mechanics.
