There have been many discussions in the sector about Sony’s release of the future PlayStation 5, to the point that it seems certain that the new console will not arrive before the next three years.
The analyst Hideki Yasuda of the prestigious Ace Economic Research Institute in Osaka does not think so, as mentioned in his recent report on the financial performance of Sony.
Yasuda-san states that at the moment Ace believes that PS5 will arrive at the end of 2019. Murata Manufacturing and TDK have however expressed concern about the tightening of the supply and demand timing of monolithic ceramic capacitors (MLCC), so much so that they have indicated this “haste” it could be a future risk for companies.
Because of this and if there are any problems in the supply of electronic components, Yasuda-san thinks there is a possibility of a delay well beyond the end of 2019. We’ll see.
