Mortal Kombat: Legacy Kollection represents a journey through decades of evolution of one of the most recognizable franchise in the sector, but fans will have to patient a little more before they can get their hands on this anthology that brings together historical titles of the universe created by Ed Boon and John Tobias: the recent rumors suggest in fact that the wait could prolong beyond the initial expectations.
According to the information that emerged from the PS Deals site (via Comicbook), specialized in monitoring the PlayStation Store prices, the release date for the PS4 and PS5 versions of the collection would have been set on 30 October 2025.
This revelation comes as a cold shower for many fans who had circled on their calendars on the date of September 30, which emerged from previous unofficial leaks.
The reliability of PS Deals in tracing information on games prices does not necessarily guarantee the accuracy of this new timing, but still represents a significant clue.
The situation is further complicated by observing the information on the official Legacy Kollection website: Atari has not yet communicated a definitive release date, limiting himself to indicating that the physical copies of the collection will be sent on December 12th.
This detail could simply represent a place placed, similar to those commonly used by retailers, or most likely to indicate that the physical editions will arrive subsequently compared to the digital launch (you can book them on Amazon, waiting to know more).
Mortal Kombat Legacy Kollection will be available on a wide range of platforms, including PC, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X | S: this multiplatform distribution underlines the ambition of Atari to reach the largest possible audience, capitalizing on the nostalgia and on the always alive interest in the classics of the Squadro genre.
Atari’s approach to communication remains cautious, with the company that continues to maintain the reserve on the exact launch date, even if the 2025 autumn window would now seem to be practically confirmed. In any case, we invite you as always to take everything with the necessary precautions of the case.
