Rob Wiethoff, famous for lending the voice to John Marston in Red Dead Redemption, recently turned on the Hype of the fans after making an advertisement linked to the game was imminent.
However, the actor returned to his steps during a recent direct streaming, clarifying that he has no decision -making power regarding the official communications of Rockstar Games.
“I don’t make ads on behalf of Rockstar Games,” Wiethoff reiterated several times.
“I know I said I had something to announce that I couldn’t talk about, and I understand that this may have brought some people off the road.”
Even without going into details, he added that he is really enthusiastic about what awaits him and who also thinks the fans will be, but he has emphasized that he is not an official Rockstar spokesman.
In recent days Roger Clark (voice of Arthur Morgan) had also fueled the wait, making sure that the two were anticipating something big.
According to rumors, it would be the much rumored Next-Gen version of Red Dead Redemption 2 for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S, as well as a possible porting on Nintendo Switch 2.
The release of the game dates back to 2018 on PS4 and Xbox One, and 2019 on PC. Since then, Red Dead Redemption 2 (which you find on Amazon) has sold over 74 million copies, contributing to the success of the series, which exceeded 100 million.
According to the rumors, Rockstar could announce the new versions already between September and October, even if at the moment there is nothing official. Meanwhile, the PC version remains the most appreciated for visual loyalty and technical customization.
Wiethoff has acted in good faith, but this little “case” once again shows how powerful the expectation of fans is for a RDR2 Next-Gen reissue. Rockstar is playing at his rhythm, but one thing is certain: if the announcement arrives, the explosion of enthusiasm will be proportional to the patience with which we are waiting for it.
