Ubisoft has revamped its subscription offering and introduced a new service for PC gamers, not sparing a dig at the retail market.\r\nUbisoft’s main subscription offering has been renamed Ubisoft+ Premium. This service is the one that offers all new releases, such as Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown (which you can also find on Amazon).\r\n«We analyzed consumer behavior and the way people interacted with our offer and we saw an opportunity for evolution,” explains Philippe Tremblay, director of subscriptions at Ubisoft (via GamesIndustry.biz).\r\n“The point is not to force users to follow one path or another,” he explains. «We offer purchase, we offer subscription, and it’s the player’s preference that’s important here. We are seeing that some people who purchase choose to subscribe now, but everything works.”\r\nAnd again: “Gamers are used to owning their games. This is the change that needs to happen. They have become accustomed to not owning their CD or DVD collection. So it’s about feeling comfortable not owning the game.”\r\n\
