Years after its world release, Red Dead Redemption 2 (here our review) continues to reveal details that amaze even the most experienced players. The latest discovery comes from a mission that many have completed several times, but that actually hides such a specific scene that it is almost impossible to meet by chance.
During “The New South”, one of the moments when Arthur Morgan accompanies Dutch and Hosea to fish, something unexpected can happen: if the player falls from the horse just as the group is traveling, Dutch reacts with a single joke, designed exactly for that situation. A line of dialogue so well contextualized that most fans have never had the opportunity to hear.
The discovery, shared on Reddit, immediately triggered the curiosity of the community, which started telling other similar episodes. Some users recalled random encounters with NPC that perform completely autonomous actions: a policeman who chases a thief and leads him back to the cell, or two passers -by who react to bizarre behaviors of the player without any direct link with the ongoing mission.
These small moments contribute to giving the impression of a really alive world, in which each element reacts credible to the protagonist’s actions. It is the result of a maniacal design, which is not limited to the main plot but fills every corner of the map of unique details, visible only to those who take time to observe.
It is not the first time that Red Dead Redemption 2 surprises in this way, and every new discovery seems to confirm how difficult it is to “see everything” in a single game. An approach that, according to many, could also influence the future Grand Theft Auto VI, expected for next year, and which still pushes thousands of players to return to Rockstar’s digital meadows today.
