On the occasion of the launch of the Fallout-themed TV series, Bethesda promoted a series of initiatives to give free access to the games of the famous video game saga, in order to welcome fans who did not know them and who would have arrived from the Amazon Prime Video show. \r\nThe idea, as far as we can see, is proving to be a winning one: as underlined by market analyst Mat Piscatella, for example, Fallout 76 is having a boom in active players on Xbox, reaching record-breaking daily numbers which they have not been seen since October 2022.\r\nThe numbers are also very good on Steam: the persistent Fallout-themed game, we see on SteamDB, has had a peak of over 20 thousand players in the last twenty-four hours: not bad, considering that the peak highest of all time dates back to four years ago, with 32 thousand contemporary players.\r\nRight now, Fallout 76 on Steam is available for free for five days and, for those wishing to proceed with the definitive purchase, the list cost is reduced by 80%.\r\nEven the numbers of Fallout 4, as the graphs of SteamDB always highlight, are very positive: the peak of the last twenty-four hours is 46 thousand players, the highest surge in the last three years. And this game is also available at a reduced price on platforms like Steam.\r\nThe effect of the show is more vivid than ever: we will now see what impact the next-gen patch will have for the console version of the game, which should in its time to arrive within this month.\r\nIn our dedicated review, the critic Marcello Paolillo highlighted the excellent work done to make Fallout a TV series: the Prime Video production proved respectful of the video game saga and its oddities, such as the humor and post-apocalyptic scenarios that recall the 1950s.\r\nFor the gaming future of Fallout, however, we’ll see what’s cooking. For now, the only apparent certainty is that Bethesda is not thinking of a similar maneuver for The Elder Scrolls, given that it has no plans to turn the fantasy saga into a film or TV series.
