Valve, the company behind Steam Deck and VR Index headsets, is reportedly preparing a multi-pronged offensive with three new hardware devices in advanced development. According to increasingly insistent rumors, we could see the official revelation in the next few days, with a date circled in red: 12 November 2025.
This would be a new, completely redesigned Steam Controller, a high-end virtual reality headset, and a home console that could bring the Steam library directly into gamers’ living rooms.
Speculation intensified after Brad Lynch, a leaker with a reliable track record in the gaming hardware industry known on X as SadlyItsBradley, shared an AI-generated mockup of the new controller overnight.
The image, despite being an AI rendering, would have been trained on real photographs of the device as stated by Lynch himself. The choice to use AI for dissemination would have been dictated by the need to protect sensitive information from the original source.

The redesign of the new Steam Controller presents substantial changes compared to the previous model, which has been out of production for years. The haptic thumbpads, a distinctive feature of the original controller that divided the community between admirers and detractors, have been moved from the top to the bottom position of the device.
But the most relevant innovation concerns the tracking system: the controller would integrate complete finger-tracking in the handles, allowing the position of the fingers on the grips to be detected, and a capacitive system capable of perceiving the distance of the hands from the handles, a solution similar to that already seen on the Index VR controllers but adapted for traditional gaming.

On the virtual reality front, the patents and rumors collected on Reddit point towards a device internally named Deckard, although some references speak of \
