The PlayStation Plus games in August revealed, there is an exceptional Soulslike

The month of August brings a particular selection of titles for PlayStation Plus subscribers, with a proposal that ranges from the Dark Fantasy inspired by the fairy tales for children to the post-apocalyptic survival simulators.
From August 5, players will be able to access Lies of P, Dayz and My Hero One’s Justice 2, three videogame experiences that represent completely different genres. This variety reflects Sony’s strategy to offer content capable of satisfying the most disparate tastes of its community.
The most daring reinterpretation of the month is certainly Lies of P (here our review), which transforms the famous fairy tale of Carlo Collodi into a soulslike experience with a macabre flavor. The most famous puppet of Italian literature finds itself catapulted into the city of Krat, an environment that recalls the Belle époque but where humanity has been replaced by madness and killer puppets.
The developers have created a combat system that involves the use of different weapons and interchangeable arms, equipped with special skills that the player will have to master to survive.
The most interesting mechanics of the game, however, concerns the interaction with non -hostile characters: Pinocchio will have to learn to lie to realize his dream of becoming human. This narrative element adds a particular psychological dimension to a genre traditionally focused on the difficulty of combat.
At the opposite of the videogame spectrum, Dayz is positioned, a survival game that does not discount anyone. Up to 60 players find themselves catapulted into a post-apocalyptic world where the threat does not only come from the infected, but also from the other survivors.
The PlayStation Plus version includes both the original Map of Chernarus and that of Livonia, an area of 163 square kilometers that offers a completely different experience.
Dayz’s most ruthless feature remains the total absence of save or checkpoints: each death involves complete loss of accumulated progress. This mechanics, which may seem punitive to today’s standards, is precisely what defines the identity of the game and makes it a unique experience in the videogame panorama.
For those who prefer action and spectacularity, My Hero One’s Justice 2 transports players to the universe of the anime My Hero Academia. This 3D fighting game allows you to use Quirks in fights that take place in considerable arenas.
The sequel maintains the winning formula of the predecessor, however, amplifying the spectacularity of the clashes and the roster of available characters.
The celebrations for the 15th anniversary of PlayStation Plus continue with a special Avatar collection dedicated to titles such as Cyberpunk 2077, Hogwarts Legacy and God of War Ragnarök, available for free from August 5.
In the meantime, the subscribers have until August 4 to add the titles of the previous month to their library: Diablo IV, The King of Fighters XV and Jusant.
