The new Dying Light will have a “crazy” parkour

Dying Light’s post-apocalyptic world is about to reopen with more brutality and realism than ever. In fact, Techland has revealed new details on Dying Light: The Beast, which promises to revolutionize two of the pillars of the series: Parkour and hand -to -hand combat.
The release, set for September 19, approaches great steps, accompanied by trailers and development diaries that show a much more immersive and visceral experience than in the past.
The most evident transformation concerns movement. Farewell to the feeling of “floating” of the previous chapters: the team led by Kacper Kwalczuk has revised the height and length of the jumps, focusing on a more likely physics that makes every more credible maneuver.

Exploratory freedom now reaches a new level, allowing you to climb almost any surface and reach areas unreachable so far.
To this are added over 100 new animations for Parkour, of which 17 dedicated to climbing on the edges. Resistance is no longer a brake to climb impressive structures: the player’s ingenuity will make the difference in finding the best path towards the top.
The fight, for its part, becomes even more raw. Weapons have timing magazines to ensure maximum impact, while the new physical engine offers more realistic enemy reactions with dedicated animations and dynamic Ragdolls. Not only that: the damage model allows you to hit and destroy at least 12 different parts of the opponents’ body, making each clash more spectacular.

Artificial intelligence has also been enhanced: the enemies will use up to 22 different strategies between positioning, covers and offensive tactics, transforming each battle into a small strategic puzzle. The result is an obvious leap in quality compared to Dying Light 2 Stay Human.
Techland wanted to play down everything with an ironic trailer dedicated to the return of the protagonist Kyle Crane, played by its international voice actors who compete for the title of “true” skull. The video, seasoned with over 200 swear words in various languages, also shows the lightest soul of the study.
Dying Light: The Beast will debut on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X/S on September 19, while the PS4 and Xbox One versions are still in development and without an official date. The heaviest innovations, for now, will therefore remain an exclusive of the new generation platforms.
