The Last of Us TV series: is the official announcement (and trailer) coming?

The TV series dedicated to The Last of Us is certainly among the most awaited among lovers of the exciting adventures of Joel and Ellie, lived on PS3 and PS4 with the first two chapters of the franchise produced by Naughty Dog .

After months of silence and indiscretions, producer Craig Mazin ( Chernobyl ) has intrigued fans on Twitter by launching a countdown, which could herald news on the The Last show. of Us. It is in fact an animated gif of Scary Movie , announcing a countdown of only seven days .

This could mean that, at the end of the week, the curtain is finally raised on the TV project most awaited by PlayStation fans, with the possibility that a first teaser trailer of the show (or, perhaps, even just the names of the two protagonists ).

What we know so far is that the The Last of Us series will be set 20 years after the end of modern civilization, telling us the story of Joel – who survived the apocalypse – who will soon decide to help a 14-year-old girl named Ellie from a dangerous quarantine zone.

Developed by Mazin in collaboration with original game creator Neil Druckmann, the show will also feature executive producer Carolyn Strauss ( Game of Thrones ), born as a co-production with Sony Pictures Television, PlayStation Productions, Word Games and Naughty Dog. Johan Renck (Chernobyl) will direct the pilot.

The HBO series of The Last of Us does not currently have a release date, nor is it known how many episodes it will be composed of.
