The first episodes of the HBO series on The Last of Us have been available for a few days, but it seems the series has managed to convince even the “competition”.
The first season tells the story of the first video game (which you can find in the PS5 remake on Amazon at a truly optimal price), to the point of convincing critics and the public.
Now, after HBO confirmed the arrival of a second season with a teaser, it has emerged that the Xbox boss also liked the first.
To the microphones of IGN US, Phil Spencer hinted that he was pleasantly surprised by how Naughty Dog and HBO brought the show to life.
Although The Last of Us is not available on Xbox, as it is exclusive to PlayStation, you can watch the hugely popular television adaptation on HBO Max, Sky and even Microsoft Rewards on your Microsoft console strong>.
Indeed, that seems to be exactly what Spencer is doing in her spare time, as during an interview he admitted that he thought the show «fantastic», praising the various teams for the work done on the project:
“Well, that’s great. They have done a great job with bringing an incredible game to the TV screen, and kudos to the team, indeed, to all the teams that worked on it. Obviously, underpinning everything is the work done by Naughty Dog to build the franchise », she explained.
And again, Spencer added: “I think it’s a great time to see the success they’re having with the franchise, and congratulations to all of them.”
Spencer was also asked in the interview if the success of The Last of Us gives hope for the second season of the Halo, underlining that there are differences between the two, but it is definitely an inspiration:
«I think there are differences, but I don’t think the point of the matter is, ‘Hey, The Last of Us is out there, setting the bar incredibly high. Should we all aspire to reach the same level with the work we do in television?” Absolutely yes. We are always inspired by the work that surrounds us».
If you are among the few who have not started the television journey of Joel and Ellie, you can catch up on the first episode, free, published entirely on YouTube .
But that’s not all: in our review of the first season we told you that “with The Last of Us, HBO has brought home the perfect series among those inspired by a video game, without neglecting the fact that even those who has never heard of Joel and Ellie before will be overwhelmed by a show of rare beauty.”
Finally, showrunner Craig Mazin has in fact hinted that The Last of Us Season 2 could be divided into several parts.
