The first episodes of the HBO series on The Last of Us have been available for a few days, but now that Season 2 has also been announced. The first details are starting to emerge.
The first season tells the story of the first chapter (which you can find in the PS5 remake on Amazon at a great price), just as the second should logically tell the story of The Last of Us Part II.
Now, after HBO confirmed the arrival of a second season with a teaser, it has emerged that the next series could be slightly different than the first.
To the microphones of IGN US, on the red carpet of the premiere, the showrunner Indeed, Craig Mazin hinted that Season 2 could be divided into several parts.
Mazin indeed announced that «[Part II] tells an even bigger, as well as more complicated, story. I think it is a beautiful story.»
And again: “Neil Druckmann and I are trying to figure out how to fit this together, since definitely deserves more than one television season».
Just below, the tweet with the short clip in which we can hear the words directly from Craig Mazin himself.

Recall that Neil Druckmann and Craig Mazin, in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, had already hinted that any future season could adapt precisely The Last of Us Part II, (already at the center of some curious Easter Eggs in the first series).
In the meantime, you can start Joel and Ellie’s television journey with the first episode, free, published in full on YouTube.
But that’s not all: in our review of the first season, we explained to you that «with The Last of Us, HBO has brought home the perfect series among those inspired by a video game, without neglecting the fact that even those who has never heard of Joel and Ellie before will be overwhelmed by a show of rare beauty.”
