The first season of the HBO series on The Last of Us has recently reached its natural conclusion, although now we are already talking about the subsequent seasons.
The original series told the story of the game (which you can experience in the PS5 remake on Amazon at a low price), as well as the second season will tell the events of TLOU Part II, but with several surprises.
Now, after the showrunners have confirmed that they absolutely do not want a recasting for the character of Ellie, it seems that Season 2 will not be the end of the show in its entirety.
As also reported by Games Radar, the second season of The Last of Us will not cover all of Part II: the creators of the series have confirmed that there will be several additional seasons.
Now that the final episode of the first season of The Last of Us has aired, talks have already started about the second season and how it will adapt Part II .
The second season has already been authorized and the creators of the show have shared a few more details about (various) seasons that have plans.
In speaking with GQ, Craig Mazin revealed that there is no way Part II will be fully covered in Season 2, as Neil Druckmann also confirmed, revealing that there will be «more than one season».
The showrunners didn’t want to reveal whether that means only a third season or potentially even a few more.
“Some of the things that excite me the most [in Part II, ed.] are the changes we discussed and seeing the story come to life again in this other version”, explained Druckmann.
And again: «I think it’s exciting because it focuses heavily on those feelings you got from the game, in a new way». We’ll see what comes of it.
Staying on topic, a few weeks ago Bella Ramsey explained that she, although she has never played the video game, she is excited to be able to tell the story of TLOU Season 2 .
But that’s not all: fans have recently taken to social media to express their preferences regarding the star who should play Abby.
