The Last of Us Part II, PS4 base is the reference platform

The Last of Us Part II has shown up so far only on PS4 Pro, as it is a practice since the release of the mid-gen console for all of Sony’s first-party titles .

However, this does not mean that Naughty Dog is snubbing the base PlayStation 4 launched in 2013, since, on the contrary, it still considers it its “reference platform”.

This was revealed by lead game designer Emilia Schatz in an interview with USGamer, explaining that “that is actually the console I have on my desk at work, so it’s the one we’re aiming at” .

In recent times, cases like Control and Borderlands 3 have given the impression that the basic versions of PS4 and Xbox One have reached the limit.

So, understandably, seeing all the promotional material taken from the PS4 Pro could leave the players perplexed in fervent expectation of the title.

All back, however, at least according to Naughty Dog’s words. We will be able to confirm it only from 21 February 2020.
