The efforts of Naughty Dog and Iron Galaxy continue to improve the quality of The Last of Us Part I on PC : the development teams have in fact announced that they have released version 1.0.3. for Ellie and Joel’s first adventure.
As fans will know by now, unlike the excellent work done for the PS5 version (which you can find on Amazon), the PC port came with significant and unacceptable day-one problems, which made it nearly impossible for most users to play.
A simply paradoxical situation that has prompted fans to try to fix things on their own, despite the repeated attempts of the development teams which, in reality, seem to have changed the situation very little.
According to what was reported by DSOGaming, the same seems to have happened on the occasion of the latest patch: although some interesting features have been added, it is in fact reported that the most serious problems of The Last of Us Part I on PC still have not been solved at all.
In fact, the 1.0.3 patch adds two new audio compatibility options, entitled “Output” and “Latency”, also introducing the possibility of resetting the arrow buttons on the keyboard and also solving some of the most common crashes.
However, DSOGaming reports that this update still failed to nothing to reduce the very high CPU usage or to optimize the shader compilation procedure, which since day-one are the aspects that have made the porting of The Last of Us Part I on PC.
Patch 1.0.3 is now live for The Last of Us Part I on PC and includes improvements to keyboard and mouse controls, visuals, UI, and more, as well as additional Audio Compatibility options.

In short, it is simply a further small step forward towards the right optimization of the game, but for Naughty Dog and Iron Galaxy there is still a lot of work to do before being able to put a one of the most problematic launches in recent PC history.
Bringing the title to PC has however allowed the most creative fans to have fun with very interesting mods: among these we point out one that allows you to transform the remake into a subjective game.
