It was the month of November 1998 and The House of the Dead 2 , a horror-themed shooter with an optical gun (or lightgun) was released in Japanese gaming rooms.
Yes it was the second official chapter of the series, developed by Wow Entertainment and published by SEGA for arcade in 1998 and later converted also for Dreamcast and PC Windows.
The title came a few years later also on Xbox as an unlockable bonus in The House of the Dead III, while also appearing in The House of the Dead 2 & 3 Return for Nintendo Wii.
The Dreamcast version was one of the launch games for the then futuristic 128-bit console from SEGA.
We also remind you that last October, Forever Entertainment confirmed that it had entered into an agreement with SEGA for the remake of The House of The Dead 1 & 2. Both the titles will be developed by MegaPixel Studio and the first will be published by the end of 2020.
