After the success of the first two episodes, the Red Barrel team made a peculiar choice for the future of its Outlast, deciding to opt for a online multiplayer, obviously with a high rate of survival horror content.
After a closed beta held a few months ago, on the occasion of Halloween, in these hours the company has decided to definitively fix the appointment with the release of its The Outlast Trials – or, at least , with its early access. As we read in the press release that has reached us, in fact, the appointment is set for May 18, 2023, when the new title of the franchise will arrive simultaneously on Steam and on the Epic Games Store strong>.
No confirmation, at least for now, for its release on consoles as well. Meanwhile, the announcement was accompanied by a trailer, which you can see at the beginning of our news.
«The closed beta was just a taste of what will come with The Outlast Trials,” said Red Barrels co-founder Philippe Morin. “Our first round of practice participants gave us some valuable feedback and interesting data, which we used to improve the experience.”
“We’ve had so many requests for the closed beta that we’re excited to welcome more players into the Early Access of The Outlast Trials, coming on May 18 >».
We remind you that The Outlast Trials is set in the same universe sick of the previous two games, but in this case you will be able to team up in teams of up to four players to face the horrors that await you. Imprisoned in the Murkoff plant in the middle of the Cold War, in fact, you will find yourself tested both physically and psychologically, in the (vain? It will be up to you) attempt to bring mental health back home. Or at least the skin.
