The canceled The Last of Us movie already had its own Ellies

The HBO series on The Last of Us  promises to be one of the best products for the small screen, but many people don’t know that the franchise should have been a movie.

The series will tell the story of the first episode (which you can find in the PS5 remake on Amazon), trying to be very faithful to the Naughty Dog game.

Even looking at the latest trailer dubbed into Italian, which seems to showcase a product that is very similar to the video game, expectations are clearly skyrocketing.

Now, as reported on ResetEra, it seems that two actresses were already in the running for the role of Ellie, in the canceled The Last of Us movie.

“Finding Ellie has always been a difficult task. The series needed someone who could appear “tough and vulnerable and wise beyond their years and who also has the potential for violence,” Druckmann explained in an interview with THR >.

They saw “dozens and dozens” of candidates for the part. Game of Thrones co-star Maisie Williams spoke with Druckmann about her role as Ellie in the film adaptation, as did Kaitlyn Dever (Booksmart).

When the HBO series arrived, all previous possible candidates were out of the question, so the search had to be reset, with Bella Ramsey finally landing the part. p>

The casting procedure, used jointly by Craig Mazin of HBO and Neil Druckmann of Naughty Dog, therefore led to choosing the definitive Ellie.

For our part, we are really very curious to see Ramsey at work, in a series that, among other things, will also introduce new elements with respect to the video game.

Finally, did you see that Naughty Dog unveiled a few hours ago a new concept art of the mysterious multiplayer of The Last of Us, currently in the works?
