Paradox Interactive today announced the acquisition of Harebrained Schemes, the Battletech studio that was published by the Swedish publisher.

As known, Harebrained had financed Battletech through Kickstarter and, in recognition of that campaign, the new owner will donate a copy of Stellaris to all the original backers.

Furthermore, it has been confirmed that the developer will work alongside a new game, which has already entered an initial planning phase, the one on updates and the latest arrival DLC.

Mitch Gitelman, president of Harebrained Schemes, explained for the occasion that “our experience working with Paradox on Battletech was the best of our career and showed us that this would be a company we would have been proud to do part”.
