Nintendo fans are in turmoil after the last trailer of Super Mario Bros. Wonder: Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Meetup in Bellabel Park.
The announcement of the enhanced version of the famous platform arrived last week, but it seems that the video revealed something more than Kyoto wanted to show. In fact, some spectators have noticed a detail that could anticipate the arrival of a character absent in the original game so far: Rosalina.
Pausando the trailer exactly at 2:01, you can clearly see the icon of a mini-game that depicts the space princess introduced for the first time in Super Mario Galaxy.
Rosalina does not appear in any form in the switch version, but her presence in this new edition would have perfectly made sense, considering the push that Nintendo is giving the content related to the Galaxy saga in view of 2026.
The new version of Super Mario Bros. Wonder will in fact include a series of multiplayer activities set in the Bellabel Park square, a scenario that acts as a hub for various challenges. And it is one of these challenges that shows Rosalina next to Yoshi in the icon identified by the Social Dynamosuperx user, fueling speculations on a possible additional galactic theme content.
Nintendo confirmed that other details on this edition will arrive in the future, leaving the door open to the possibility of new levels, power-ups or even playable characters.
This move is part of a wider strategy that will see in 2026 the return of Super Mario Galaxy in great style, with the re -edition of Galaxy and Galaxy 2 for Switch 2, sold together with 70 dollars or individually to 40.
In addition, a physical version of the famous book by Rosalina will also be published, as well as the debut on the big screen of The Super Mario Galaxy Movie is expected, followed by the first animated film by Nintendo and Universal. During the Direct a teaser was shown that seems to confirm the princess’s debut in the same film universe of Mario.
Super Mario Bros. Wonder remains one of the most acclaimed 2D platforms of recent years, as underlined by Ign in his 9/10: “establishes a new standard for what a Mario platform should be colorful, alive and surprising”. The arrival of Rosalina could represent Nintendo’s umpteenth surprise blow to maintain the title fresh and relevant also on the new generation.
