Stellar Blade is inspired by a 2019 film (and beyond)

Stellar Blade has recently entered the Gold phase and therefore will not undergo any type of postponement, being scheduled for April 26, 2024.\r\nDeveloped by Shift Up and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment (you can find it on pre-order on Amazon), the title already has all eyes on him.\r\nBetween one controversy and another, director Kim Hyung Tae has now spoken about the sources of inspiration that led to the creation of the game.\r\nVia PlayStation Blog, it has been confirmed that Stellar Blade reimagines and represents science fiction elements of the 80s and 90s, including that of the famous manga Alita – Battle Angel by Yukito Kishiro, more particularly the recent film dedicated to him.\r\n«There are several . However, one of the most stimulating ones, from the point of view of theme and design, is the science fiction manga Gunnm by the master Yukito Kishiro. It was adapted as an action film in 2019 under the title Alita: Battle Angel. We drew a lot of inspiration from that film”, explained Tae.\r\nAnd again, regarding the plot of the game:\r\n\r\n”The story begins following the plundering of the Earth by mysterious creatures called Naytiba, leading the decimated human race to flee into deep space. \r\nFeeling defeated and tired of life in space, humans decide to fight the Naytiba to regain their homeland.\r\nPlayers will learn about the background and incidents as they progress through the game. After discovering the truth, Eve will have to make a decision and her choice is in the hands of the players.»\r\n\r\nAlita – Battle Angel is a 2019 film directed by Robert Rodriguez, born precisely as a film adaptation of the manga Alita – Battle Angel, which lasted from 1990 to 1995.\r\nWe remind you in any case that Stellar Blade will be entirely dubbed into Italian, both for the voices and for the subtitles.\r\ nIn our test, we explained to you that the game «seems to lack originality, caught between a protagonist that recalls Bayonetta, a game world that mimics that of Nier Automata and a combat system that owes a lot to soulslike, and yet does not fail to offer finely crafted clashes, a happy meeting point between the spectacular nature of character action games and the typical difficulty of works inspired by those of the master Miyazaki.»
