Together with The Elder Scrolls VI , Starfield is definitely the second project from Bethesda most awaited by audiences around the world.
Following the acquisition of ZeniMax Media by Microsoft (and their confirmed appearance at E3 in June), the chances that the sci-fi open world title may be released as early as 2021 are increasing day by day.
As also reported by DualShockers , according to YouTuber MrMattyPlays, it seems that Bethesda has officially filed the registered trademark for Starfield and that the role-playing game will therefore actually see the light no later than the end of the year.
I guess it means * something * will happen with Starfield publicly this year?
“The general rule is that the year in a copyright notice is the year of first publication of the work. First publication is when the work is made available to the public without restriction.” cc @HoegLaw https://t.co/MRShjRmqQI

So this is a first confirmation that Starfield will actually see the light within the next few months? Yes, but caution is never too much.
Just a few weeks ago in fact Jason Schreier of Bloomberg had hinted that there was nothing certain about the release of the Bethesda title (as well as other games of some importance, such as the next Halo Infinite or God of War Ragnarok ).

It must be said that in cases like these the copyright registered for the current year would also be equivalent to the year the game was released in stores , as also claimed by the well-known insider Klobrille em>.
Recall in any case that the development of Starfield was inevitably slowed down due to the global health emergency, which does not exclude a change of plans in progress from part of Bethesda (also given the importance of the title in question).
Despite this, even the journalist and well-known insider of the Xbox world, Jeff Grubb, wanted to reassure users by confirming that the release would still be scheduled for this year.
Finally, the situation regarding the exclusivity of the game, after Microsoft’s acquisition of the Bethesda / ZeniMax package, should always be clarified.
