Star Citizen finally shows the single player, after years of waiting

It was October 18, 2012 when the Star Citizen project saw the official launch of its crowdfunding campaign, an unprecedented success that still grinds millions over millions .

About ten years after the fundraiser started, Chris Roberts and his team of programmers have not yet come to release a definitive date for the game’s launch complete.

To date, in fact, the crowdfunding counter managed by the developer Cloud Imperium Games has exceeded the threshold of 500 million dollars (not exactly peanuts, in short).

Now, as also reported by Wccftech , a series of of leaked contents of the game, which show several minutes taken from Squadron 42 , the massive single player mode of Star Citizen .

The long-awaited single-player campaign of Roberts’s well-known space opera has finally brought to light some in-engine gameplay .

The fact that Star Citizen is in some sort of limbo is nothing new, but at least the videos that emerged from the game show a good quality level .

In any case, the video you find below comes from an internal build and shows cutscenes rendered by the client.

While Squadron 42 does not have an actual release date, the sections of the game seen so far relate to an alpha version released in June 2022 ( in any case, everything in the video is in-engine).

After all, the main game is still in alpha stage and there is no indication as to when a beta phase or a proper release might arrive. We will keep you updated, hopefully already in the course of next year.
