A few days ago everyone’s attention was attracted by the latest Nintendo Direct, which proposed the news and games coming soon to Nintendo Switch.

However, there is a rather particular announcement that has found its place in the Japanese Direct that has left us somewhat amazed.

On this occasion Square Enix announced The Centennial Case: A Shijima Story , a live-action mystery game based on the resolution of some murders with a mystical flavor.

The title will follow the adventures of Haruka Kagami , an up-and-coming mystery novelist, in search of a secret group (or entity?) called Scarlet Camelia , attributed to the murders of four members of the Shijima family.

These murders took place over a century, and all revolve around the presence of a particular Fruit of Youth, heirloom of the persecuted family.

To solve the case, new investigator Kagami will have to transcend time and space to relive the murders of the past and thus discover the truth behind all these misdeeds.

In addition, each actor in the game’s cast will play multiple characters , one for each year that we will relive: 1922, 1972 and 2022 .

The Centennial Case: A Shijima Story will be released next May 12 and will arrive on PC (Steam) and consoles Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5. During the event it was presented only for Japan, but confirmations have also arrived about the release in the West.

During the latest Nintendo Direct, among other things, the arrival of a famous game set in space was also announced on the Switch.
