Analysts have no doubts about the bright future of Spotify. According to Justin Patterson, analyst for Raymond James, the subscription music service that allows you to listen to the songs in streaming is destined to double its users by 2020. At the moment, Spotify has about 75 million users, which they would therefore pass 150 million in two years.
To make the analyst so sure of his prediction is the fact that Spotify is one of the tech-world figures that boast one of the most important growth rates of the moment. Not even the revival of Apple Music, according to Patterson, will put into question the dominance of Spotify: “the big companies could be the biggest competitors for Spotify, but when we analyze the strategies on the market, we see that there are few ways to allow an intensification of competition in this business and to attract more users. We doubt that Apple can ever surpass Spotify within the music. Rather, the risk is that Apple can slow down the growth of Spotify in those markets where iOS devices have a large base installed. “
We look forward to finding out if the analyst’s predictions will be accepted by reality, or if Spotify’s growth will be able to undergo slow-downs so far difficult to predict.
