Sony Japan Studio loses another piece (also worked on Bloodborne)

Masami Yamamoto left Sony Interactive Entertainment Japan Studio on January 28th, as announced by the developer via Twitter a few hours ago (via Gematsu ).

Yamamoto was known to be the external production director and executive producer, having worked on titles such as the No Heroes Allowed series, Tokyo Jungle, Rain, Bloodborne , Soul Sacrifice, Freedom Wars and many others.

“Including my last tenure at Sony Music Entertainment, I’ve been with Sony Group for 25 years,” said Masami. «As a game creator, my first-party job was full of excitement. And it was all possible thanks to your support. Ah, in the future I will be able to create games on any platform… what a strange feeling! »

Last February Sony Interactive Entertainment confirmed that it will reorganize Sony Interactive Entertainment Japan Studio, starting the new company structure starting from April 1st and leaving only Team ASOBI, authors of the entertaining Astro’s, “intact”. Playroom .

Also recently – and after the departure of Keiichiro Toyama – the Japanese team also saw the abandonment of Teruyuki Toyama, producer of games such as Blooodborne and the remake of Demon’s Souls on PS5 consoles, as well as greetings from producer Masaaki Yamagiwa.

Masami is therefore only the latest in a long line of developers who have left the company due to its downsizing. We just have to wait to find out more, hoping that Japan Studio will soon return to shine with its own light thanks to this difficult “internal reorganization” which has been going on for several months now.

Regarding Toyama, the historic creator of the Silent Hill series who recently formed his software house Bokeh Game Studio has revealed that he is collaborating with a famous Japanese author (still shrouded in mystery), for the creation of his new horror title.
