SEGA showed today for the first time images of a new Act and an original boss to appear in Sonic Mania, the side-scrolling 2D platformer coming out inshort. Green Hill Zone Act 2 can count on a new area created exclusively for Sonic Mania, and expands the tropical setting of Act 1 with new gameplay mechanics, obstacles and many secrets to be discovered at full speed. It also introduced a new set of bad guys ready to damage, called “hard-boiled Heavies”. These enemies are part of the new arsenal of Eggman, and have special abilities that will make your life very complicated the blue hedgehog. Thefirst of all bosses, “Heavy Gunner”, will make its appearance at the end of Act 1 Studiopolis, level inspired by the world of Hollywood, and is a huge armored robot which can even take to the skies with his helicopter. Heavy Gunner has a powerful rocket launcher that uses to counter those who go a little too fast (and reliable sources from Studipolis confirm that this practice is generally quite effective). Sonic Mania is developed by SEGA of America in collaboration withChristian Whitehead, PagodaWest Games and Headcannon. The title will be available for PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360 and Nintendo Switch during the spring of 2017.
