Silksong has a “frightening” Easter Egg that perhaps has escaped you

Hollow Knight: Silksong, the long -awaited following of Team Cherry’s masterpiece (here you find our review), is already distinguishing for a particular feature: the presence of Easter Egg that go far beyond the simple surprise, transforming itself into real disturbing experiences. Despite being available for just over a week, the community has already started to discover some of her most hidden and chilling secrets.
The reputation of the first Hollow Knight was built on this ability to continually amaze players. From the theft perpetrated by Millibelle who ran away with all the protagonist’s Geo towards the thermal springs, to the narrative mysteries that the community is still trying to decipher, the original title of 2017 had made the surprise element one of its strengths. Every corner hid something unexpected, every mechanics hidden a secret to be revealed.
The new chapter of the adventures of Hornet seems to want to follow in the footsteps of the predecessor, but with a decidedly more sinister approach. The first hours of play are particularly demanding, characterized by difficult bosses that also test the veterans of the series. Bellhart represents one of the first areas where players can finally feel they have made significant progress, but it is precisely here that one of the most disturbing secrets of the game is hidden.
The Bellhart area welcomes players with a kinematic sequence that shows Hornet while observing the inhabitants of the city with horror, all trapped and suspended from silk threads. The scene is already disturbing in itself, but what happens afterwards can transform the experience into something much more disturbing. The secret only proves to those who decide to rest at the city’s bench and subsequently abandoning the game for the night.
At the next loading of the game, the players are faced with a secret scene that completely overturns the situation: it is Hornet himself who is trapped in the silk, just like the inhabitants of Bellhart who had observed with compassion. The only way to get rid is frantically pressing the buttons, but not before having lived a moment of pure videogame terror.
The discovery left many players with the feeling of having stumbled in a secret ending, fearing that he had not saved Bellhart quite quickly. Fortunately, it is only a hidden kinematic sequence, but the psychological effect is guaranteed. This Easter Egg represents a perfect example of how Team Cherry manages to exploit the natural breaks of the game to create unexpected narrative moments.
The peculiarity of this secret lies in its limited accessibility: it works exclusively if you rest and abandon the game at that specific bench, and only before having completely freed Bellhart. Once the city problem has been solved, the Easter Egg becomes inaccessible, making this discovery a temporary and even more precious experience for those who can live it.
Although it is not the most complex or full of content in Silksong, this moment certainly represents one of the most easily listed Egg Eggs of the game. Its ephemeral nature and the specific sequence of actions required to activate it make it a hidden gem that will probably escape most players, adding a further level of mystery to an already rich gaming experience of disturbing surprises.
