Resident Evil 3 Remake from an external study in 2020?

According to a new, apparent leak, Resident Evil 3 Remake would be in the pipeline for January 2020.

According to the insider Dusk Golem, it would be a part of the operation to annualize the franchise, which would lead to having Resident Evil 8 on the market in 2021.

Dusk Golem also believes that he discovered that the title would not be in development at Capcom > but it would have been entrusted to an external study, which would be “very interesting”.

It was not specified which would be the developer in question, but in the past the software house had relations with Ninja Theory (now owned by Microsoft, therefore outside the games) and Platinum Games remains a credible track given the past of its pillars.

In any case, as for the original, Resident Evil 3 Remake should be based on the remake of the second chapter and does not require much work in terms of asset creation.

This would facilitate the development to the point of being able to entrust it to a less expert reality, while the main team would be engaged on a new mainline chapter.

For now, Capcom’s official position is that, if there is enough demand from part of the fans, if we can talk about them again in the future.

Of course, this information cannot be verified, so we ask you as usual to take them with pliers.
