In a recent interview, the art director and co-studio head Rob Nelson revealed that Red Dead Redemption 2 has been under development for eight years’ beauty.

Nelson explained that as soon as Rockstar Games finished working on the original chapter, he started thinking about the direction to be given to the story for a sequel.

“I think when we finished this,” the co-head of Rockstar North revealed, pointing to a screen with Red Dead Redemption’s gameplay, “we decided what story we wanted to tell for the sequel”.

“We always like to move on the new hardware when we can start from scratch, because this always pushes the basic ideas that we are chasing and with whom we are playing, and so we try to achieve even more”.

The exponent of Rockstar also explained that the game will be presented as a “Rockstar Games Productions”, without the name of the specific studio that worked, because it was “a global effort” of all the software houses under its umbrella .
