In an interview granted to EDGE , PlayStation boss Jim Ryan pointed out that the price of PS5 was not decided based on that by Xbox Series X.
Sony has been waiting for each of its major next-gen announcements for the competition to move, or so it seemed publicly, but Ryan instead pushes forward the idea that it would be just a coincidence.
«We have set our product lineup at the end of last year » , said the president and CEO of Sony Interactive Entertainment.
«Our preferred pricing was determined earlier this year, before the lockdown . And we just went ahead and ran with what we wanted to do. ”
There have been no changes in the running, in short, to adapt to Microsoft’s bold move to launch its flagship for € 499 and a variant, Xbox Series S , even from € 399.
