Disney + has finally obtained a native application for PS5 , which allows streaming in 4K and HDR in an absolutely official capacity .
The owners of the console with DualSense pad (which you can also find on Amazon ) were already aware of the arrival of a new system update regarding the App in question.
As you may recall, PS5 has had a Disney + app available for download since the launch of the Sony platform, but is not without some problems .
Now, after the first rumors reached our ears during the month of August this year, it is the official confirmation that many were waiting for has finally arrived.
As also reported by The Verge , the new native App is designed to take full advantage of the potential of PS5, including support for 4K and HDR for movies and TV series from the Disney + catalog.
Disney announced that a new Disney app is now available globally, including Italy . Unlike the previous version, which was just a PS4 application running on the latest Sony console, the new software was designed natively for PS5 .
The main difference for users is that Disney + now supports 4K HDR playback , whereas the previous App was limited to 1080p all this time.
This means that you can now watch the service catalog and recent original films such as Andor, Hocus Pocus 2 and She-Hulk: Attorney at Law throughout their Ultra HD splendor. You can download the new Disney + PS5 App from the media section of the home screen .
«A key part of our global expansion strategy is to reach out to consumers wherever they are, which is why we are excited to improve both Disney + and Star + for users of PlayStation 5 », said Jerrell Jimerson, EVP of product and design at Disney streaming.
«The ability to support streaming 4K HDR video on the platform will also improve the viewing experience for fans » , Jimerson concluded.
Speaking of which, Sony also recently announced that it has removed a feature that gamers rarely use.
