A new update is now available for PS4, with the firmware that, after installation, goes up to version 5.53-01. This update has more than one element of novelty.

First of all, the weight: the firmware is probably the lightest ever on PlayStation 4, since the required download is just 71MB compared to the canons 3-400MB.

Secondly, the installation does not require, for the first time, the restart of the console.

As reported by VG247.com, there is the possibility that with this update introduce a new modus operandi with regard to the download and installation, with smaller and faster fixes to implement.

There is not a changelog to find out what errors the update has corrected but, since it is a “-01” version, it is clear that it goes to fix some problems arisen with the main 5.53.
