Giovanni, the head of Team Rocket, intends to dominate the world and to do so, involving his new experiment, a powerful clone called Mew Mewtwo. Mewtwo is very powerful as well as intelligent, to the point of not wanting to be controlled by John. After escaping from the lab, Mewtwo begins to concoct their own plan, clandestinely inviting some Pokémon Trainers to participate in his last test.
