The month of June, historically very hot for the world of video games, is taking more and more shape: having said goodbye to E3 and welcomed the Summer Game Fest, the appointments that they are settling down throughout the month and are already numerous, as we have told you in our complete and promptly updated calendar.
We already know, for example, that we will have an appointment with Xbox and a special focus on Starfield, just as we know that there will be an appointment with Ubisoft. But what will Sony do instead? One of his lectures, a PlayStation Showcase.
Or, at least, that’s what the well-known journalist Jeff Grubb of Windows Central claims, who in the past has successfully anticipated numerous first news to be announced.
Making up his summer appointment calendar (thanks VGC), in fact, Grubb has inserted a PlayStation Showcase that would be held even before the conference of the Summer Game Fest. If so, we should expect this conference before June 8, when there will be the opening appointment of the Geoff Keighley kermesse.

The month will certainly be very hot: in June PlayStation will see the arrival of Final Fantasy XVI, which will be a temporary exclusive on PS5, and will certainly want to push the accelerator on this title. The Showcase, if confirmed, however, could also anticipate what we will see in the second half of the year, where we should get our hands on Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, barring unforeseen and referrals.
In short, from June onwards the PS5 year remains to be defined and a mid-year Showcase could be a good option to reveal something more to us. For the moment, however, Sony has not expressed its opinion on the matter and we await official confirmation.
In the first half of the year, the company focused mainly on the launch of DualSense Edge, the new Pro controller for PS5 (you can find it on Amazon), and on that of PlayStation VR 2 – which, however, would be recording not too exciting results. In short, for the rest of 2023, another pasta will be needed. And a Showcase could begin to unveil the plans in preparation.
