Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE) has not started a new acquisition for PlayStation but, together with NCsoft, will start a new global strategic commercial partnership.\r\nNCSoft, known to the general public for the development of the MMO Guild Wars 2 ( still active and purchasable on Amazon), joins Sony’s international allies, and will therefore be part of the ecosystem of companies that support PlayStation.\r\nA new project by the Korean company was recently revealed, namely Project M , which from the first trailer seems too good to be true.\r\nThe CEOs of the two companies, Taekjin Kim of NCSoft and Jim Ryan of SIE, met and jointly signed the partnership. The two companies will collaborate specifically in various global commercial sectors, including mobile.\r\nAccording to the official press release released by SIE, the two companies are evaluating a series of potential opportunities with the aim of promoting strategic synergy, exploiting the NCSoftT’s technological prowess and SIE’s global leadership in entertainment.\r\nTaekjin Kim commented on the announcement specifying that the goal of this agreement is to offer «a new and entertaining experience to our audiences across and beyond genres and regions”.\r\nAs for Jim Ryan, who is preparing to leave his position in the next few months, the CEO of SIE commented:\r\n\r\n”The collaboration with NCSOFT makes advance our strategy to expand beyond consoles and broaden PlayStation’s reach to a broader audience. Like SIE, NCSOFT shares a similar vision in creating high-quality, impactful entertainment experiences for gamers around the world, and together we are excited to collaborate to further push the boundaries of gaming.”\r\n\r\ nAlthough it is not an acquisition, this agreement could be interesting to give PlayStation users new products.\r\nAwaiting any real acquisitions that will arrive in the future, as analysts have explained to us recently.
