The PlayStation Studios produced many successful blockbusters, where God of War Ragnarok is just the latest exponent of the studios.
And have we already forgotten about Marvel’s Spider-Man? Peter Parter’s adventure that on PS5 and PS4 before (you can still find it on Amazon) made the rediscovery of gamers’ love for Marvel.
Even The Last of Us Part II was an unforgettable title, a video game that sold a lot despite the tide of controversy that is carried behind.
While God of War Ragnarok brings at home a truly sensational record, the most important, there are those who wanted to give a report of PlayStation Studios.
The PlayStation Studios, a conglomerate of first party studios that for a moment it was believed could also include Kojima Productions, have churned out many titles.
Productions that must always create a strong impact on the market and which, often , they did it easily. But which ones were the best?
The Twitter profile of Benji-Sales, who frequently monitors the financial side of the video game industry, did a rundown of the best launches of PlayStation Studios video games.
According to the data officially published on various occasions, the ranking does not present any major surprises:
The Biggest PlayStation Studios Launches Ever
1. God of War Ragnarok – 5.1m in 5 Days
2. The Last of Us Part II – 4m in 3 Days
3. Spider-Man – 3.3m in 3 Days
4. God of War (2018) – 3.1m in 3 Days pic.twitter.com/QGflAVQztd— Benji-Sales (@BenjiSales) November 23, 2022
The winner is God of War Ragnarok with 5.1 million copies in 5 days.
Following the aforementioned work by Naughty Dog with 4 million in 3 days, the friendly neighborhood spider with 3.3 million in 3 days and then… still God of War, but the episode of 2018 with 3.1 million in 3 days.
The return of Kratos and Atreus has conquered more than all PlayStation players, also thanks to a story full of twists (some of which are hidden in plain sight ).
I wonder if such numbers could also be achieved with a possible Castlevania, a franchise on which the director of Ragnarok would like to work willingly.
While PlayStation Studios continue to expand with many new acquisitions.
