Just yesterday I was talking about how The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild became the best game of 2025 for the average votes of Metacritic.
Now the situation has doubled, in a certain sense, because in the following hours Tears of the Kingdom also reached the top positions in the ranking of the best games of the year.
The masterpiece for Nintendo Switch is literally having a second life, because now it is the best game of 2025 with an evaluation of 95 out of 100. You can see it yourself through the ranking on Metacritic: just click here.
It is, of course, the Nintendo Switch 2 version with the technical updates included in the game for the new console that the reviews have rewarded abundantly.
It is truly a strange situation to interpret, because Tears of the Kingdom seemed to have disappeared from public dialogue despite its absolute value and now, thanks to the re -edition for Nintendo Switch 2, for many it will be like living it for the first time.
Pygotto of the strong powers of the corrupt print bought by Nintendo to be able to re -elected the same game and sell it? Obviously yes, according to many who are already pontificating on this strange phenomenon online.
While letting these nice Gasconies have fun, it is interesting to reflect on how the rebuilds are in fact excellent strategies to give life to video games of absolute value but with a few years (in the case of Tears of the Kingdom very few) on the shoulders.
Who knows if now, between technical updates and validation from Metacritic, there will also be a media relaunch of the game after the many reasons why the players have abandoned it so far.
We will see if these new versions will also be able to magnify the sales of the original, considering that Nintendo Switch 2 is already an absolute success in many markets.
For now the launch game, namely Mario Kart World, has proven without a shadow of a doubt the most worthy title to accompany the new generation, looking at the overall sales so far.
