As you almost certainly know, Sony has decided to bring some of the famous video game franchises PlayStation into a dimension far from the purely videogame one. p>
Production of the Uncharted film starring Tom Holland (who plays a young Nathan Drake) will go hand in hand with the The Last of Us TV series by HBO and the creator of Chernobyl (with the collaboration of Neil Druckmann of Naughty Dog ). But that’s not all: Twisted Metal and Sly Cooper should also be part of the upcoming TV show package.
Apparently, however, it does not end here: Sony Pictures would have in mind to realize 10 projects , between films and TV series , always taken from the IP of the PlayStation world . The confirmation comes from Tony Vinciquerra, CEO of the production company, during an interview with CNBC:
We don’t have any specific projects yet. However, we have an internal program within the company called One Sony. That is to say, very soon you will see more integration between Sony companies.
More specifically, three films and seven TV shows based on successful series are in production. Unfortunately, at the time of writing, the names of these new projects have not been officially announced (did anyone say God of War ?). We just have to wait, hoping that good news will arrive in the first months of next year.
As for the The Last of Us series (still without an official debut date), Mazin and Druckmann appear as executive producers on the show, with Carolyn Strauss (Chernobyl, Game of Thrones), Evan Wells of Naughty Dog and Qizilbash and Carter Swan of PlayStation Productions. Johan Renck (Chernobyl) will direct the pilot.
If you don’t want to miss out on one of the best games of the generation (if not the best) you can always catch up on The Last of Us Part II for a very low price.
