Those who hoped that the arrival of a new console definitively ended the annoying Joy-Con Drift will inevitably remain disappointed: unfortunately we must confirm that this problem will sooner or later also jump out on Switch 2.
It has already been confirmed that the Joy-Con 2 (of which you can find additional couples on Amazon) use the same identical component present in the controllers of the first console, in fact in fact the merits and the defects.
For those who do not familiar, I remind you that the Joy-Con Drift occurred when the analog ended to record non-existent inputs, thus making the games and use decidedly more frustrating, especially in games where particular precision is required in the commands.
If for the first console we have often seen controversies that have even arrived in court, even if no one has ever managed to concretely demonstrate its existence in the trials, today Nintendo seems to no longer want to try to hide the problem.
According to what reported by Dexerto, Kyoto’s house has already started to provide a program to repair the Joy-Con 2 for free, in anticipation of any drift that could occur on the new controllers.
Nintendo’s choice for the analogues of the new Joy-Con had made people discuss immediately, above all because there are already economic controllers use Hall Effect technology, designed precisely to prevent this problem from occurring.
In reality, the great N may have decided not to adopt this strategy due to the magnetic hooks of the controllers: the sticks Hall Effect exploit the magnets, which could end up causing interference.
Consequently, the problem of drift may never be definitively solved on Switch 2, unless you use alternative controllers that never go to hook to the console.
In any case, the fact that Nintendo is already preparing to offer free repairs is certainly a step forward compared to the management of the first console, when we had to wait only for 2023 to be entitled to it.
