Nintendo puts to rest doubts about third-party docks for Switch 2

The Nintendo Switch 2 community can breathe a sigh of relief: Nintendo has officially confirmed to Eurogamer that it has no intention of blocking the use of third-party docks for its new console.
The statement comes after the firmware update 21.0.0, released last week, had raised alarm among users who had relied on alternative solutions to the expensive official dock. 
The update in question introduced several software improvements, including the addition of symbols to distinguish physical games from digital ones on the home screen at a glance.
However, numerous Switch 2 owners reported that after installing the patch, their unofficial docks stopped working properly, preventing video output on their TV. A significant problem for those who had invested in aftermarket accessories, often for practical needs such as having a gaming station in multiple rooms or for portability during travel.
